• He has many publications in National and International Index journals and wrote chapters on hepatic encephalopathy and liver transplant in Gastrointestinal /hepatology books.

• Dr. Apurva Shah is a full time consultant available daily at Main Hospital, Bhat, Gandhinagar.
• Apollo Hospitals runs -Liver Clinic” as one stop comprehensive clinic for patients with various liver diseases. Liver Clinic also screens people who are at high risk for developing liver disease (people who are diabetic and obese, regular alcohol consumers, sufferers of hepatitis B & C and those with family history of liver disease).
• For patients with decompensated cirrhosis , we have successful Liver transplant programme which was started in 2010 , first in Gujarat. We have fibroscan for liver stiffness facility , newer modality to assess fibrosis of liver in fatty liver and chronic viral hepatitis.
• Department provides preventive diagnostic endoscopy services to patients who are at high risk of developing Gastrointestinal cancer for various reasons like chronic tobacco chewing, smoking or chronic alcohol consumption and people with strong family history of gastro intestinal cancers.
• A Dedicated “Colo-Rectal Clinic”: The aim is to provide comprehensive care to patients who are suffering from intestinal tuberculosis, chronic diarrhea, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, colon cancer, bleeding form back passage and anorectal problem etc.
• For those patients who require gastro intestinal or liver surgery for various indications, we have two excellent senior GI / Liver surgeons to operate on many patients. Majority of the surgical procedures are done laproscopically at our center.
• Serious / Complicated cases are seen jointly by Medical Gastroenterologist and surgical gastroenterology colleagues & intensivist on the day to day basis.
