Dr. Rajesh S Shinde MS, M. ch., is a Consultant Surgical Oncologist (Castro-intestinal Oncolo-gy & HPB Oncology) at Apollo Hospitals Navi Mumbai. He has rich experience in performing complex colorectal, stomach, liver, pancreas, gall bladder, bile duct and retroperitoneal tumor surgeries.
Dr. Shinde completed his Surgical Oncology training from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He trained in Robotic surgery at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University, Seoul – considered the mother institute for Robotic surgery in the world with maximum number of available robotic systems in a single institute.
He also trained in advanced Pancreatic and HPB Surgery at University of Verona, Italy, an apex centre for pancreatic surgeries in Italy. He has a strong academic record with numerous published Medline/pub Med articles and book chapters. His special areas of interest include complex abdominal organ cancer surger-ies with robotic and minimally invasive approaches.
In the field of HPB surgery his interests lie in major liver and pancreatic resectional surgery for primary and secondary cancers. In the field of colorectal surgery his interests lie in robotic surgeries and sphincter preservation rectal surgeries.
